There are lot of documents and tutorials on the net, but still some information are often hidden or not easy to find.
Hopefully these tips can help.
Creating a component
The easiest way to create a component is to find something similar, then copy it (clone) and then modify it.
Here a basic guideline.
- Search a similar component from Libraries
- When found, select it then go on the button More (on the bottom) and choose Clone.
Edit the title then OK.
The component is now available under the Class Personal, on both SCH Libs and PCB Libs sections. - Change basic info about the component.
Just select the component and right click.
Select Modify. A pop up appears where is possible to change the title, the descriptopn and the tags. - Edit the component.
First open the schematic and edit it. - Do the same with the PCB section
Change names
To change names to components, from the main EasyEDA menu, select EasyEDA File Source ...
In the opened window, edit names and fields.
Attach a PCB to a component
If you have a PCB library and want to attach it to a component, first open the PCB library.
Then from the main EasyEDA menu, select EasyEDA File Source ...
In the opened window, locate the uuid and copy it.
Now open the schematic you want to update adding the PCB.
The PCB part of a component is called Package.
From the main EasyEDA menu, select EasyEDA File Source ...
In the opened window, locate the puuid (if exists) and change the value with the uuid saved from the PCB.
