Fitbit Wellness Report

One of the reason to pay for Fitbit Premium was the possibility to generate a 30 days Wellness Report.

I did use that every time before to go to a doctor, it is a nice way to report some physical data.
Since last year, Fitbit (or better Google who did buy Fitbit) decided to remove the possibility to have the Wellness Report.

Why ? Who knows.

The crime

Google (it owns Fitbit now) started to change position of the menu' to request the report in the app, then they did hide it in a help menu, and recently they disabled it.

Lot and lot of post on the forum did try to plea to restore this option, asking for reasons, explanations .. nothing.

Anyway, people did try alternatives.

This article describes how to create an alternative to the Wellness Report for Fitbit.

A couple of things first :

  1. I did NOT developed anything, I just found  a guy who worked on this issue.
    I'm limiting to report this.
  2. It is necessary to use the Fitbit API that require an access token
Of course I'm late to report this, soon will disappear :

This article describes an app that use the Legacy Fitbit APIs

The original Wellness Report

Let start to say that I liked a lot the original Wellness Report, bringing up the data collected in a neat way.

The data reported in the Fitbit original Wellness Report, fixed in 30 days from the requested date, were :

  • Resting Heart rate
  • Weight Log (in Pounds)
  • Activity (steps)
    • Minutes in HR zones
  • Sleep
    • Sleep duration and time in sleep stages
    • Sleep schedule
  • Glucose
    • In range trends
    • Blood glucose history

The alternative Wellness Report

The alternative report can be set to retrieve data up to 1 year and it includes :
  • Resting Heart rate
  • Steps count
  • Weekly steps Heatmap
  • Activity (steps)
  • Weight log (in Kg)
  • SpO2
  • Sleep
    • Sleep Regularity

How to obtain it

At the moment this is what is easy and fast to do to obtain a report.

Caution !
This is based on the work of a person that allowed to use his server.
Don't abuse it !

  • go on the website :  https://fitbit-report.arpan.app/
It is possible to receive the message :  This service has been suspended.
Since the site is based on a free tier resource, if too many people use it (or abuse it) the service is automatically disabled for some time.
If the service is not suspended it will appear a page where on the top it asks for a Fitbit Access Token

  • Select the range date (or leave the 1 year suggestion)
  • Obtain a Fitbit access token
Of course it imply to have an account with Fitbit/Google.
  • Copy the obtained token in the page and click submit.
After few minutes the page will be populated
